Sign of cerebral palsy

Have you ever heard on signs of cerebral palsy? Is it something pertaining to the brain areas? Yes. It is true. When the cerebral palsy is present, naturally it has to express its own symptoms like any other condition.


But what is pathetic is that when this condition is present in the birth itself, the symptoms are very difficult to identify unless the person or the medical expert is aware of the routinely exhibited symptoms of this condition earlier. Many often they fail to identify the correct symptomatology that can be expected in this clinical problem.

The baby may reveal the pronounced symptoms only from age of three. Till then, one needs to observe the symptoms in a serious manner. Then only it may become possible to identify the pertinent symptoms of this condition. The affected baby may often have a weak voice during crying. Often the baby tucks up its body when lifted by somebody.

The activities are somewhat more different when compared to the normal children of the same age group children. Many a time, unusual positions are observed with the child. The posture of the affected children may look so different to the cute observers.

During swallowing of milk or other liquids, differences are noticed when compared to the other children. Similarly, even some difference might be noticed during the sucking activities of the child.

The sensory perceptions of the affected individuals in the later life were found to be disturbed to a greater extent. The person may not be able to know the perception-based difference between the foam and a hard surface.

There may be drooling of saliva from the mouth and the stains made by the constant flow of saliva may at times make some irritation in the cheek and chin regions and the following itching activities lead to the appearance due to some skin lesions in these areas.

There will be apparent lack of coordination some times in the gait or during the normal movements of the person affected with such types of disorders. When somebody observes his mobility, they can find out the abnormality easily.

Sometimes, if the condition is in advanced state, the affected persons start revealing the symptoms of the seizures. The drugs given to control the seizures in such persons some times may cause the aggravation of the oral lesions.

The cavities get formed in the dental structures and around the structures. Hence, signs of cerebral palsy often relate to the gingival abnormalities. Overall, the signs of cerebral palsy are quite different in such persons when compared to the normal type of persons.
